Why We Clean and Organize Our Play Space All Day Long!

If you’ve ever visited our play space for a birthday party, open play, or special event, odds are you’ve seen us buzzing around, picking up toys, and wiping down surfaces.

In fact, one of the questions we’re asked most frequently is, “do you pick up toys all day long?” The answer is YES! The reason- we know the importance of an organized space for play. We know that kids are more likely to engage in creative, imaginative play when the environment is organized for that purpose!

We try our best to never interrupt play in progress, which is why you mostly see us picking up “abandoned” toys! The most common abandoned toy: a shopping cart full of a collection of items from the play floor!!

Here are five ways an organized environment will help your child engage in learning through play!

  1. Clear structure: An organized play space provides a clear structure and layout, making it easier for children to understand and navigate the environment. This helps them develop organizational skills and learn how to follow rules and instructions.

  2. Safety and supervision: An organized play space ensures a safe and supervised environment for children to engage in play. This allows them to explore and take risks within boundaries, fostering their physical, cognitive, and social development without compromising their safety.

  3. Accessible resources: A well-organized play space offers a variety of age-appropriate toys, games, and materials that are easily accessible to children. This allows them to choose activities based on their interests, encouraging independent decision-making and fostering creativity and problem-solving skills.

  4. Social interaction: An organized play space often facilitates social interaction among children. It provides opportunities for cooperative play, sharing, turn-taking, and conflict resolution. Through these interactions, children develop important social and communication skills, such as empathy, teamwork, and negotiation.

  5. Cognitive stimulation: An organized play space can be designed to stimulate cognitive development. It may include activities that promote critical thinking, problem-solving, and logical reasoning. The arrangement of materials and challenges can encourage children to engage in imaginative and open-ended play, enhancing their cognitive abilities.

So the next time you see us on the play floor, resetting our play areas, it’s in an effort to allow for all of that invisible learning through play to happen! Happy Playing!
